Jul.4 (GMM) Toyota's Jarno Trulli endured a woeful opening day of practice for the 2008 British grand prix.The Italian, despite finishing on the podium two weeks ago at Magny-Cours, looked slow at Silverstone, and then crashed at Stowe corner when his rear wing fell off.

AFP - A delighted Heikki Kovalainen grabbed his maiden Formula One pole position on Saturday with a near-flawless qualifying display at the British Grand Prix.

Patrick Head: 'Silverstone is emasculated... it's just another track now'

Patrick Head is still a resounding big shot in the world of Formula One, despite moving "sideways", and in truth a little downwards, from the job of technical director at Williams, the company he co-founded with Frank Williams more than 30 years ago, to that of engineering director. Team heads happy for British GP future, some sad to leave Silverstone

The heads of the McLaren, Williams, Honda and Toyota Formula One teams have no problems with the decision to move the British GP from Silverstone to Donington Park, as long as it guarantees the future of the race for another decade.
