Renault unsure if they will keep Piquet

Aug.15 (GMM) Nelson Piquet Jr must wait until the end of September to learn if he will be retained by Renault in 2009, the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport claims. According to the report published on Friday, the French team recently decided against simply taking up an option on the Brazilian rookie's current contract.

Aug.2 (GMM) Toyota has sided with Renault in the trackside spat about the legality of formula one engines. First team boss Flavio Briatore, and then Renault racer Fernando Alonso, griped this week that they believe the French squad has fallen behind its competitors because of the 'freeze' on most engine development.
