Bourdais penalised for blocking Heidfeld in Q1

Aug.2 (GMM) Sebastien Bourdais has been demoted five positions on the grid for the Hungarian grand prix. The Frenchman qualified his Toro Rosso in 14th position on Saturday, but BMW-Sauber competitor Nick Heidfeld - who subsequently dropped out of the initial 'Q1' segment - complained that he was held up through the final corner.

BMW test slick tyres and aero developments for next year

Nick Heidfeld was in the cockpit today for BMW. They where testing out the slick tyres and some new aero components which may be on the car for next year depending if the data has some good feedback.

The 31-year-old German, whose Swiss based employer had a notably bad outing in Hungary recently, is unconvinced Ferrari really closed the gap on Mercedes-powered rivals McLaren at the circuit near Budapest.

Hockenheim (DE). The BMW Sauber F1 Team has to cope with modest grid positions for the German Grand Prix. Robert Kubica qualified 7th, and after braking a little late, Nick Heidfeld missed to score within the top ten, resulting in position 12 in Hockenheim.
