The personal private jet steward to McLaren Formula One boss Ron Dennis has launched a legal battle against him, claiming he was unfairly sacked over unfounded rumours that he was gay.

Aug.7 (GMM) A McLaren spokesman on Thursday denied reports that team boss Ron Dennis wants to retire with a title at the end of 2008. Dennis, the Mercedes-powered team's 61-year-old chief, was quoted this week by Germany's Auto Motor und Sport: If I do step back, I would want to do that with a title.

When he spoke to reporters this week as he arrived in Hungary, the apex of his spectacular falling out with Dennis' outfit one year ago, Alonso suggested that had he stayed at McLaren in 2008, he would have been forced to accept a support role alongside Lewis Hamilton.
